• Is a seller that drop ships a product to a Wisconsin location liable for Wisconsin Sales Tax on that sale?

   

  A seller registered in Wisconsin that drop ships product to a Wisconsin location based on an order received from an unregistered out-of-state retailer is liable for Wisconsin sales tax on that sale unless the Wisconsin purchaser is able to claim exemption and provides the seller with a valid exemption certificate. The taxable amount is the retail selling price of the product. An unregistered out-of-state retailer may not claim a resale exemption on product drop shipped to a Wisconsin location as a result of a retail sale made in Wisconsin by the unregistered out-of-state retailer.

• What size and shape are your magnets?

  We use only disc magnets.  Unlike all other shapes, discs create the purest, most efficient magnetic field, resulting in the most therapeutic value for our customers.  Magnetic lines of flux radiate in a curved shape.  In square, rectangular or triangular magnets, the curved flux lines are disrupted, thereby reducing the magnetic force.  These other shapes can be large, heavy magnets that look impressive but yield less magnetic force than an equal weight disc magnet. Using disc magnets allows us to

  make a lighter, stronger magnetic pad. 

   

  Through our construction, we keep the magnets as close to the body as possible for maximum performance and all magnets are orientated Bio-North facing the body.  We stock 0.75" x 0.25" and 1" x 0.25" magnets.

• What is a Magnetic Field?

  A magnetic field is the region in space where a magnetic force can be detected.  The magnetic field strength and direction can be measured in terms of strength and direction.

• Are your magnets Unipolar or Bipolar?

  All of the magnets that we use are Unipole Bio-North.  A Bipolar magnet is a refrigerator magnet where the magnet has both north and south poles on each side.  Unipole magnets only have one pole per side.  One side is the North pole and one side is the South pole.  We place our magnets so the Bio-North side is against the body.

• What is Gauss?

  The term Gauss refers to the strength of the material the magnet was made of.  This has little to do with the magnetic strength of a particular magnet.  All Gauss ratings are based on just one magnet, and gives you the strength of the material that the magnet is made of, under test conditions.  Gauss rating is completely unrelated to magnetic strength as it is used for magnetic therapy.  The magnetic strength of a Magnetic Mattress Pad comes from the size and spacing of the magnets, not the Gauss rating.

• What is penetration depth and is it important?

  Penetration depth refers to how far the magnetic field is able to get into your body.  It varies by the size and strength of your magnet.  It is very important.  Penetration depth is supposed to be a measurement of the distance that the magnetic field can effectively penetrate.  Unfortunately, this number can be very misleading because most companies don't know what is really "effective".  Some companies simply make up a number so that their product looks stronger than their competitors.  This can quickly lead to much exaggerated claims as companies try to outdo each other.  The best way for a consumer to figure out exactly how far a given magnet will penetrate you need to keep some basic principles in mind:  Magnetic fields decrease rapidly with distance.  The farther away the weaker the magnetic field strength.

   

  1. The earth's magnetic field measures about 1/2 gauss (0.50 gauss).  A basic law of physics and magnetism states that a stronger magnetic field will overpower and cancel out a weaker magnetic field.  What this means is that any magnetic field that is 1/2 gauss (0.50 gauss) or less will be canceled out by the earth's magnetic field and have no therapeutic effect.

   

  2. Technically, any magnetic field stronger than 1/2 gauss will have a therapeutic effect.  But we want to do better than that.  We have established a value of '1 gauss' as the minimum effective magnetic field strength.  Maximum 'effective' penetration depth is therefore defined as the distance from the magnet where the magnetic field strength drops to 1 gauss.

   

  For Example:

   

  We use 3/4" diameter x 1/4" thick disc magnets, with a manufacturer's rating of 3,950 gauss.

   

  Notice the difference in penetration depth when a lower (ineffective) gauss measurement is substituted:

   

  1 gauss = 4-1/8" - the actual effective penetration depth

  0.5 gauss = 5-1/4"

• How essential is magnetism to living organisms?

  The Smithsonian Institute determined that sharks and insects obtain up to 90 percent of their energy from the Earth's magnetic field rather than from food.  Both sharks and insects are highly resistant to viral infectious diseases, including cancer, even though insects do not have an immune system.  Dr. William Philpott believes magnetic energy is our first line of defense.  He describes our immune system as our second line of defense (Discovery of Magnetic Health - George Washnis 1993).

   

  Dr. J.H. Vandyk and Dr. M.H. Helpern did research for NASA in which they raised mice in specially prepared metal cages that shielded them from the electromagnetism of the Earth.  Within a few weeks the animals lost their fur and began to die.  The connective tissue in their skin and internal organs showed signs of uncontrolled growth.  Additional animals raised in a normal environment during the same study remained healthy (Magnetic Therapy - Holger Hanneman 1990).

   

  People are also healthier in parts of the world where magnetic fields are stronger.  Millions of people visit Lourdes, France where greater magnetic fields prevail.  As a result of bathing, drinking and dabbing the water of Lourdes on their body, most people report that they are feeling better as pain and stress are relieved, while over 2,000 inexplicable cures (with 65 so called miracles) have been recognized by the authorities (Discovery of Magnetic Health - George Washnis 1993).

• What would happen if a magnetic field deficiency occurred in the Earth, since a degree of human energy appears to be absorbed from the Earth's magnetic field?

  Dr. Nakagawa, director of the Isuzu Hospital in Tokyo, has spent 20 plus years researching magnetism and humans.  He concludes that a magnetic field deficiency already exists which currently produces stiffness of shoulders, neck and chest pains, headache, heaviness of head, dizziness, insomnia, constipation and lassitude.  Nakagawa references authorities who have demonstrated that the Earth's magnetic field has diminished 50 percent over the past 500 years.  Dr. Philpott questions whether the human body is weakening and deficiencies are emerging, since when a patient with symptoms is exposed to a high gauss strength magnet the symptoms are considerably relieved or disappear.  Dr. Nakagawa also points out that metal buildings, automobiles, trains, ect. are absorbing the Earth's magnetic field causing interference and loss of gauss strength.  Metal structures not only absorb and interfere, but also shield us from essential magnetism (Biomagnetic Handbook - Dr. William Philpott 1990).

   

  The above conclusions of magnetic therapy researcher Dr. William Philpott regarding magnetic field deficiency have led him to say; "I have found through years and years of research that the magnetic mattress pad is the best product for both prevention and treatment of disease.  Total body treatment, with a properly designed magnetic mattress pad, provides the best overall benefit.  It places the entire body in a magnetic field that creates a natural sleep inducing, stress reducing, anti-inflammatory environment all night long and the health rewards cannot be over emphasized."

• Why does proper design with correct polarity matter?

  In 1936 Dr. Albert Roy Davis, established that each pole of a magnet affects our biological systems in distinctly opposite ways.  This discovery was by accident after earthworms were inadvertently left near a strong magnet after a canceled fishing trip.  Through further experimentation they learned that the north pole was a calming energy, while the south pole was stimulating, distinctly opposite of each other (Magnetism and its Effects on the Living System - Davis and Rawls 1974).

   

  Researcher Dr. Robert O. Becker M.D. provided a very important fundamental observation concerning magnetic therapy and response.  He established that when an injury occurs, the injured area registers magnetically south pole.  After a few hours the area without any outside magnetic influence registers north pole polarity.  What this proves is that north pole energy is a healing energy while south pole energy is just the opposite.  He also goes on to say that there appears to be a fundamental force that heals.  The force of magnetic energy (The Body Electric - Robert O. Becker 1985).

   

  Dr. William Philpott states that "it has been supported, through multiple experiments, that there are distinct and opposite effects of the two separate magnetic poles on metabolic function.  In terms of biological response, the separate poles are as distinctly opposite as night and day" (Biomagnetic Handbook - Dr. William Philpott 1990).

   

  Maybe you are wondering how magnetic "electricity" can have an effect on our "non-metallic" bodies.  In 1923 Soviet biologist Alexander Gurwitsch, who initiated research with the belief that all physical and biochemical reactions all have as their essence electromagnetic energy, proclaimed, "Every living cell also produces electromagnetic currents."  Another Soviet researcher, Georges Lakhovsky, was also convinced that the human body and therefore the cells in that body are equipped with biological receivers that react to every stimulus in the environment.  He stated, "Every cell in a body is stimulated by the resonating interaction of the rhythmical flow of electromagnetic currents."  It is clear from this research that the Earth's magnetic field is intended to provide each cell in our body with the magnetic and electrical energy that they need to survive.  Since it has been established that this energy is deficient, it is necessary to supplement this if we want to live our lives to their fullest potential of health and length of life.

• Why is it that so many different ilnesses can be successfully although seemingly mysteriously treated with magnetic therapy?

  Professor Holger Hannemann of Switzerland states: "This is now easy to understand when you keep in mind that many illnesses are the result of the same basic dysfunction.  Every illness is a bio-energetic (electrical) breakdown of the organism.  It is a sign that the cells have been deprived of energy and the defense mechanism weakened.  It is then the task of magnetic therapy to remove the blockages that get in the way of normal functioning". 

   

  It is also easy to understand knowing what you now know how the amazing results of Dr. Nakagawa are possible.  He has used magnetic therapy on more than 11,000 patients.  The primary complaint of these patients was muscle spasm in the shoulder and neck region.  For many of these patients, pain was already extending to the upper neck and head and down the back.  With magnetic therapy, he was able to free 90 percent of the patients from pain.  (Magnetic Therapy - Holger Hanneman 1990).
